Mumbai, March 16 (IANS) A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Monday was trading flat at 9.60 points or 0.03 percent down as metal stocks dropped.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 6 points or 0.07 percent down at 8,641.75 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 28,546.31 points, was trading at 28,493.70 points (at 9.23 a.m.) in the early session, down 9.60 points or 0.03 percent from the previous day’s close at 28,503.30 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 28,581.82 points and a low of 28,451.25 points in the trade so far.
While good buying was observed in health care, IT and the banking sectors, selling pressure was seen in the metal sector.
