Mumbai, March 13 (IANS) A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Friday was trading 155.12 points or 0.54 percent up as banking stocks gained.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading at 39.65 points or 0.45 percent up at 8,815.65 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 29,134.93 points, was trading at 29,085.53 points (at 9.22 a.m.) in the early session, up 155.12 points or 0.54 percent from the previous day’s close at 28,930.41 points.
The Sensex has touched a high of 29,183.76 points and a low of 29,075.92 points in the trade so far.
Good buying was observed in banking and capital goods sectors, while marginal selling pressure was seen in fast moving consumer goods sector.
